What was discussed at that table was nothing less than the operational roadmap of a new state. The agenda included:

• Establishing Ankara as the new capital.

• Maintaining a decisive stance at Lausanne and defending the Misak-ı Milli (National Pact).

• The integration of women into political life.

• The future of the Caliphate.

Throughout that night, the very first signals of the Republic and its upcoming revolutions were broadcasted, actively preparing the public for a massive paradigm shift.

From the Table to the Field 

Immediately following this intense intellectual and diplomatic battle, as the sun rose, the delegation moved to Hereke to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the soldiers. This inspection was the physical execution of a strategic plan.
